FirstNation’s Proprietary Process:
In this era of antibiotic-resistant viruses and rising labor costs, municipalities, corporate America and even consumers are looking for affordable and effective solutions that can protect their buildings, vehicles, homes and, more importantly, families.
Our proprietary titanium dioxide (TiO2) spray process is 100% green, non-toxic, and harmless to humans and the environment. The FDA-approved TiO2 not only deodorizes but cleans the air and surfaces it is applied to of all bacteria. Once applied, TiO2 will continue to protect surfaces from germs and dirt, making for easy cleanup, particularly on the exterior or vehicles and buildings.
TiO2 is applied via a fine mist that dries on contact and activated through a photocatalytic reaction which occurs when light, either artificial or natural reacts with the mineral. This reaction will occur anytime the surface is exposed to light, continually sanitizing the treated surface and eliminating contamination from day-to-day build-up. The coating is a clear, colorless, eco-friendly and water-based suspension of photoactive TiO2 nanoparticles.
TiO2 is a cost effective, easily-applied and long-lasting solution for commercial transportation fleets, schools, hospitals, cruise ships, hotels, airplanes and on a smaller scale, homes, personal vehicles, boats, etc. TiO2 can be applied to virtually any interior or exterior surface that comes in contact with dirt and germs.
What is Titanium Oxide (TiO2)?
Titanium dioxide, is the naturally-occurring oxide of titanium, or TiO2. Approved by the food testing laboratory of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), TiO2 is considered a safe substance and harmless to humans. It is commonly used in paint, food and cosmetics. Many studies have been published on the use of titanium dioxide as a photocatalyst for the remediation of organic compounds. After being illuminated, titanium dioxide produces hydroxyl radicals, which react with the organic matters in the air to form non-toxic inorganic matters.
What is photocatalysis?
Photocatalysis refers to the chemical reaction that occurs when light strikes a chemical compound that is light sensitive, such as titanium oxide. When light strikes titanium dioxide, a chemical reaction occurs in the immediate region and cause the breakdown of organic toxins, odors, and more. This reaction has many valuable results, several are listed below.
EXTERIOR APPLICATION
Applied by spray to the exterior of vehicles, buildings, structures, TiO2 forms a self-cleaning protective coat. As a result of the photocatalytic reaction, organic materials are reduced to small, dry particles that can easily be washed away.
The hydrophilic nature of titanium dioxide, coupled with gravity, will enable dust particles to be swept away from rain or a water stream, thus making the surface self-cleaning. When the surface of photocatalytic film is exposed to light, the contact angle of the photocatalyst surface with water is reduced gradually. After enough exposure to light, the surface reaches super-hydrophilicity. In other words, it does not repel water at all, so water cannot exist in the shape of a droplet, but spreads flatly on the surface of the substrate. The water takes the form of a highly uniform thin film, which behaves optically like a clear sheet of glass.
The result is a major savings in maintenance. Vehicles are now self-cleaning. Windows are crystal clear. Buildings repel dirt and pollution and retain their original look.
INTERIOR APPLICATION
When applied interiorly the process removes all odor and bacteria in the air providing a truly clean air environment. 99.9% of MRSA, Influenza, e-Coli , mold fungii etc. bacteria is removed from the air. Light activates a chemical reaction that constantly attacks dust and any VOC's in the air and destroys them by breaking them down into their original form of carbon dioxide and water. Bathroom tiles are protected, walls retain their original
Luster while becoming self cleaning. Room staleness and odors eminating from smokers are removed. Walls and ceilings are self cleaning retaining their original hue.
